Food safety is an integral part of our fresh fish and seafood business at Adelphia Seafood. Our seafood is inspected and monitored continually as it passes through our facility.

The process begins in our purchasing department. Our buyers procure all of our seafood products from HACCP certified sources. HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) is a comprehensive food-safety program designed to protect food from hazards. The system was originally developed byNASA to assure the safety of food for its astronauts.

When you buy seafood products from Adelphia Seafood, you are buying from a facility that has HACCP certified employees. Our HACCP plan has been in place since 1997 and regularly updated to help prevent any food safety hazards. We adhere to strict FDA guidelines for handling fresh and frozen seafood products and maintain full documentation of all HACCP records.

Our facility is routinely inspected by the Food and Drug Administration and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. Annual inspections by our national restaurant chain customers are also conducted. These audits are carried out by independent third-party auditors (NSF). Internal HACCP procedures are regularly monitored by Adelphia Seafood’s SQF Practitioner and our SQF/HACCP Team.

We employ Country of Origin labeling (COOL) on all of our fresh and frozen seafood products so you know where the products come from everyday. In addition to our HACCP and COOL compliance standards Adelphia Seafood is also registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Adelphia Seafood Inc. is in compliance with the registration requirements of the United States Food and Drug Administrations Public Health and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002.

Adelphia receives fresh seafood on a regular basis from around the world into our West Lawn, PA facility. The product passes through a documented quality assurance step before any further processing occurs. Any seafood not meeting our rigorous specifications is rejected.

Once product passes initial inspection, our experienced team of fish cutters and in-house production kitchen, monitored by our HACCP Team, processes each order. Before shipment, all items are consolidated in a temperature controlled environment and reviewed for accuracy. Your order is shipped on our fleet of refrigerated trucks that will maintain and secure the freshness and quality of your delivery.
