
Seared Ahi Tuna Salad with Fresh Snap Peas
Ingredients
- 1 ½ pound Ahi Tuna Steaks
- 3 tsp extra virgin olive oil divided
- ½ plus ⅛ tsp salt divided
- ½ tsp coarsely ground black pepper
- 3 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 4 tsp honey
- 1 tsp dark sesame oil
- ½ tsp fresh ginger peeled & minced
- 6 cup mixed salad greens
- 1 ½ cup sugar snap peas trimmed
- ½ cup scallions thinly sliced
- 1 tsp sesame seeds toasted
Instructions
- Rub tuna steaks with 1 tsp olive oil; sprinkle with ½ tsp each salt and pepper. Set aside.
- For the dressing, combine lime juice, honey, remaining 2 tsp olive oil, sesame oil, ginger, & remaining ⅛ tsp salt in a bowl; whisk to combine. Set aside.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add tuna; cook 3 minutes without disturbing. Turn and cook 2 minutes more or to desired degree of doneness.
- Transfer tuna to a cutting board; slice into ½ inch thick pieces.
- Divide greens among plates. Top each salad with tuna. Add even amounts of snap peas, scallions, & sesame seeds. Drizzle evenly with dressing.
